Good attendance and punctuality at school has a direct llink with pupil attainment.

A score of 90% on a test is good. 90% attendance is not. It is the same as having nearly four weeks off school a year.

Below you can download further information about attendance and lateness and how it can affect your child's education.

Changes to legislation in 2013 mean that parents can no longer take their children on holiday during term time. All unauthorised absences are reported to the Local Authority and parents can be fined by the local authority for taking their child on holiday during term time. The initial fixed penalty notice is £60 to EACH parent for EACH child. For a two parent family with two children the fine would amount to £240.

You can find out more about the local authorities guidelines on term time absence here.

If attendance is something you are struggling with Mrs York holds regular attendance surgeries and is always available if you wish to discuss things with her. Please make an appointment with the school office.
